“Birthing” a Day
Everyday is a new day.
From the moment we open our eyes in the morning to the moment we close them at night. I didn’t really pay attention to this until I read a great post about the “Daffodil Principal” .
Basically the story goes like this – a woman back in the 1940′s – if I remember correctly, started planting daffodils. One flower bulb at a time. Years later there was a HUGE field of daffodils. A pretty majestic sight I would think. You know, the kind of flower field you see while driving somewhere in your car and have to pull off to the side of the road to marvel at it. That kind of flower field.
What I got from the story was through the years she did the same thing-planted one flower daily. When she died the field of daffodils remained. Year after year they bloomed – a legacy she left behind for others to appreciate. She worked on the field one day at a time.
When I read that, it touched my heart and I’ve been thinking about it ever since.
Actually everyday I wake up in the morning, I not only “birth” a new day, but I am also planting a flower everyday. The flower is what I choose to do that day, how I use my time, activities I do, what I choose to give attention to …. because that’s all I have really, is today, the moment.
It’s taken me a long time to understand that the actions I take today will influence tomorrow. At the same time, the actions I don’t take will also influence tomorrow- these are usually the ones that life creates for you if you don’t look out and take action.
When I think about all the “building wealth” and other related teleseminars, programs etc., going on across the Internet (which many have excellent information) success in becoming wealthy will depend on the flower/s you plant, or not, today.
So create your own “legacy field” working towards your goals in life one day at a time. When the years pass you’ll see how successful you’ve become.
